We welcome all researchers to the Hoover Institution Library & Archives reading room. To request materials, reserve time in the reading room, and place digitization requests, researchers must first register and create an account with Aeon, the Library & Archives' request system.

The reading room is open by reservation only. Please consult our website for detailed information regarding our reservation system and use policies.

  • Bring a government-issued photo ID. During your first visit, you will be required to have your photo taken by staff to complete your registration.
  • Consult our website for detailed information regarding planning your visit.
  • No jackets or coats with pockets are allowed in the reading room. Please bring a sweater without pockets in case you get cold.
  • If you are visiting with a research partner or guest, each individual must be registered in Aeon and have their own reservation. Please contact Hoover L&A if you plan to work as a group.
