Effective immediately and until further notice, the L&A reading room is CLOSED to all researchers.

Welcome to the Hoover Institution Library & Archives Request System

The Hoover Institution welcomes all researchers to its library and archives reading rooms. To request materials, researchers must first register and create an account with Aeon, the Hoover L&A Request System. This system replaces our former paper registration and request forms in both our reading rooms.

    With Aeon, researchers can:
  • Request library material directly from SearchWorks, our online catalog
  • Request archival material directly from collection finding aids on the OAC
  • Submit duplication orders for L&A material
  • Save requests for later to better plan your visit
  • Track the status of requests and access detailed information about past requests

Before You Visit

  • Please bring government-issued photo ID when visiting the Library & Archives.
  • No jackets or sweaters with pockets are allowed in the Archives Reading Room. Please bring a sweater without pockets in case you get cold.
  • During your first visit, your photo will be taken to create your L&A reader card.

Please note that Hoover Aeon accounts must be updated on a yearly basis. You will be prompted automatically by the system to review and update your registration information every 365 days.
